DRESS CODE

Key Stage 3 and 4

To create a sense of identity and belonging to the Bexleyheath School community and to alleviate the pressures of keeping up with changes in fashion, all students in Key Stage 3 and 4 must wear full school uniform. This must be adhered to throughout the timetabled day as well as whilst travelling to and from the school. All uniform items are available from our supplier, Boffins, 37 Pickford Lane, Bexleyheath (Tel. no. 020 8298 9085).

Boys :

Blazer –Navy blue with school badge*
Trousers -Plain mid-grey (Polyester/wool only) Shirt –Plain white with collar. Top button done up and always tucked in.
Tie –Green stripe Year 7, Red stripe Year 8, Yellow stripe Year 9, Purple stripe Year 10, Blue stripe Year 11*
Socks –Plain navy, black or dark grey
Shoes –Black leather only. No trainers, canvas shoes or plimsolls
Pullover –Mid grey, V-necked
Lab Coat –Plain white
Jewellery (including ear rings) –Not permitted
Hairstyles –Conventional and neither dangerous nor distracting to others. The shortest acceptable cut is a number 2. Shaved patterns are not acceptable.

Girls :

Outdoor Clothes

All outdoor coats, anoraks etc must be in plain black with no coloured logo . Fluorescent safety inserts will be acceptable. Denim or imitation denim will not be allowed. Leather jackets are discouraged.
‘Hoodies’ are not acceptable as an outdoor coat .
All pupils will require a strong waterproof bag to protect school books and equipment.

Key Stage 5

Students follow a dress code rather than wear a uniform. Clothes should be smart, business wear suitable for an indoor, academic working environment. There should be no low cut tops or very short skirts. Extremes of fashion must be avoided. No denim or trainers are allowed. No body piercings are allowed other than in ear lobes. Coats, scarves, hats and gloves must not be worn around the school. Bexleyheath School makes the final decision as to what is or is not acceptable in all respects of a student’s appearance.
