FAMILY INFORMATION DIRECT PROGRAMME
The Family Information Direct Programme (formerly known as Parent Know How) is the Government's flagship information service for parents which incorporates independent advice from 18 organisations, charities and voluntary groups. The programme aims to provide all those in parenting roles with access to advice, support and information on a range of issues they may face when bringing up children.
This service is available through a number of different channels; telephone helplines; online personalised advice; videos, newspaper and magazine articles and through social networking sites. In addition to these services the Family Information Directory includes the details of all childcare available to families across England. This directory shows parents the range of providers, from nurseries to childminders and after-school clubs to children's centres available in their area.
Further information on these services can be found at: www.dcsf.gov.uk/familyinformationdirect/

DRESS CODE

Key Stage 3 and 4
To create a sense of identity and belonging to the Bexleyheath School community and to alleviate the pressures of keeping up with changes in fashion, all students in Key Stage 3 and 4 must wear full school uniform. This must be adhered to throughout the timetabled day as well as whilst travelling to and from the school. All uniform items are available from our supplier, Boffins, 37 Pickford Lane, Bexleyheath (Tel. no. 020 8298 9085).
Key Stage 5
Students follow a dress code rather than wear a uniform. Clothes should be smart, business wear suitable for an indoor, academic working environment. There should be no low cut tops or very short skirts. Extremes of fashion must be avoided. No denim or trainers are allowed. No body piercings are allowed other than in ear lobes. Coats, scarves, hats and gloves must not be worn around the school. Bexleyheath School makes the final decision as to what is or is not acceptable in all respects of a student’s appearance.
